Why do you need a Mudguard? :
Fender is the term for the part of an automobile, motorcycle or other vehicle body that frames a wheel well. Its primary purpose is to prevent sand, mud, rocks, liquids, and other road debris/spray from being thrown into the air by the rotating tyre. Universal mudguard is typically made of solid material (plastic or fibre) and can be damaged by contact with the road surface.
Sticky materials, such as mud, may stick to the smooth outer tyre surface, while smooth loose objects, such as stones/pebbles, can become temporarily embedded in the tread grooves as the tyre rolls over the ground. The ejection of these materials onto pedestrians or fellow riders on the road is prevented by the UniversalMudguard. These materials can be ejected from the surface of the tyre at high velocity as the tyre imparts kinetic energy to the attached objects. For a vehicle moving forward, the top of the tyre is rotating upward and forward and can throw objects into the air at other vehicles or pedestrians in front of your bike. This is where your Universal Mudguard comes into play.
Sporty-styled or racing motorcycles sometimes come with or have added as an aftermarket accessory, a “tyre hugger” rear fender, attached to the rear swingarm and very close to the tyre, rather than attached to the rear subframe and away from the tyre. Conversely, the practice of removing the front fender and reducing the size of the rear fender produced the bobber customization style of the 1950s onwards in the UK.
